New Zealand is a small mass of land surrounded by the huge Pacific ocean, so you can enjoy hundreds of kilometers of beautiful beaches. Most of them are largely uninhabited and have retained much of the wilderness despite the human presence. Rough and choppy seas are common and full of life at the same time. So as you walk on those beaches, you can start to perceive how the forces of nature have and still continue to shape the landscape. Personally, this is a very powerful sensation that can make you feel rather miniscule and insignificant.
