In Cape Reinga some landscapes appear as mirages...Giant sand dunes in the midst of meadows and woods, a 99 mile beach that you can drive in a 4WD or mountains completely white. In this case, there were sand dunes formed of pure silica, but we weren't able to reach them. What a shame!
